What is it for?
MuchoFileInfo is a simple utility, with which you can simply modify your files' creator and type, rename them or change file's finder flags.

Installation
Decompress the MuchoFileInfo folder and put a copy of the program in your utilities folder. You can also make an alias of it on the desktop or even in your MuchoLauncher®.

Compatibility
MuchoFileInfo was tested and is fully functional on MacOS 9.0.4. But, as it does'nt use any specific CPU or OS instruction, a 68K and a PPC version are provided and it should be working well on any version of Mac OS since drag & drop was supported.

How to…
MuchoFileInfo is really simple to use. As you start it, a window appears and displays a ready info window on which you can drop any single or multiple files to change their creator, type, name or any other finder flag.

If you drop more than one file on the window, only common characters are written in the File Name section, the uncommon characters between files names, are replaced by "*", if you modify, add or remove from the comon characters, the modification will be made for all dropped files. Removing "*" will have an unpredictable result.

If you click on the lock button, the last creator and type are memorized and then each file or group of files dropped on the window will heritate the same creator and type.

Two push buttons (named "edit creators" and "edit types") are used to edit the Creators or Types lists, and to customize their order, their description, remove old ones (like built in ones) or to add new ones.

Note that you can also drop a file on the edit boxes to catch a file's creator or type.
Creators or Types and their description are editable by double-clicking on one of them.

MuchoFileInfo or any other software available for download on our website may be included on magazine cover disks and CD-ROMs without prior permission.

If you want to include MuchoFileInfo, it's still probably a good idea to get in touch to check that you have the latest version.

If you want to distribute MuchoFileInfo with a commercial product, let us know and we'll come to some arrangement. Individuals are encouraged to freely distribute MuchoFileInfo and upload it to online services but commercial distribution is not permitted. For-profit shareware/PD software libraries are specifically prohibited from including MuchoFileInfo on their disks, but genuine user groups are allowed.

The complete MuchoFileInfo package including this documentation and the unmodified application must be included with any distribution.
